The perfect, romanticised version of motherhood—the ‘motherhood myth’—needs to be dismantled. Women who are childless by choice are controversial, but women who regret motherhood…? This is the ultimate taboo.

Liza Caruana-Finkel has recently completed a masters in gender and women’s studies. She is passionate about social justice, currently working and collaborating with various NGOs. She has a special interest in reproductive rights, particularly in the context of Malta. Liza was born in Ukraine, grew up in Malta, has lived in Russia, and currently resides in the UK.

Maria Theuma is a PhD student within the Department of English at the University of Malta. She likes drinking Bloody Marys, watching figure skating and reading online forum threads about JonBenét Ramsey.
